Pretty

I got a call to bring some color and life to the party. A husband planning a 60th birthday for his beloved wife. Private room at the Mark Hotel (so chic!) with two long tables, 24 guest. She likes pink and this is what I made. I loved every single one and needed to show you all of them at once. They included coral charm peony, black beauty roses, hellebore, ranunculos, tulips, geranium and something called "misc. greens" (that's what my receipt said).  Each had their own personality. They completely summed up what I strive for in my floral design - pretty, lush, composed and artful.

The New Modern: Spring Green

Good morning! Today, we have our 12th and final table design up on Brooklyn Bride. Check out the full post here. What a great ride it's been! I can not say enough good things about working with both Adrienne of Bespoke Affairs and Tory of Tory Williams Photography. We all share a love for what we call a clean happy aesthetic and best of all enjoy each others company. My goal when starting the series was to present a new refreshing design perspective for your wedding table. Something fun, modern and approachable yet always pretty.  I think we accomplished such goal. I'll share with you some of the process next. Thank you Brooklyn Bride!

For the Love of Tulips

I love that tulips do their own thing. Day one they drink. Day two they stand straight up at attention. By day three they start to relax. And by day 4 they are fully expressing themselves. This is day 5. Changed water each day and gave a fresh clip. Glorious.

Second post in the "Just For You" series (I know I gotta think of better name). Anyway, this vase is one of my all time favorites. Hand made by Whitney Smith Pottery, it normally sits empty on my shelf. The mouth of the vase is super small so it's hard to find anything that fits. However, yesterday's wedding yielded some extra thin stemmed clematis blooms. Aha! I refused to give them up to the caterer and carted them home on the subway. I'm not going to lie it literally took me 20 minutes to get the stems to sit just right. I continue to fuss with them. Enjoy you Sunday!

Bits of Randomness

Look at my new gorgeous pierced ginger ceramic lamp! Just arrived from etsy vintage goods seller Florida Found. Do you think the shade is too high? I might lower the harp. I'm really enjoying refreshing my studio space. Will be sharing more images with you soon. I am particularly  enjoying pinning "for real" bits of inspiration on my massive board. I leave you with some random photos and hope you enjoy your weekend. See you soon!

Another Try

Hi remember me? Now I'm showcasing little daffodils. It's kinda like having buttered popcorn sprouting from your finger tips, no?

In the Pink

Hello all. Hoping you had a lovely holiday weekend. We hid the Matzoh as well as a bunch of dyed eggs. And I ate waaay too much, oh well.  I'm hoping to find some time this week to steal away and do something luxurious for myself...get a long massage possibly(?) You know, some personal prep work before the wedding season kicks off in earnest. Here are some pretty fleurs for you to feast on. I really enjoyed making this bouquet. It came together very quickly and naturally. I hate when your hands are struggling or the flowers are not cooperating. I had a drawing professor who once said your hands are always behind your head. It's a pleasure when they work in sync. I'm all over the place in the post. See you soon.
I loved this little posey. I did snap off the tulip on the left after taking this photo. Ahh, much better.

Color Explosion

Hey Gang. In keeping with the color combo theme I have running lately I wanted to share with you the work of Australian artist Ali Nobel. I found her on the web somewhere and was instantly smitten. I find them refreshingly honest and joyful to behold. I hope some bright New York gallery dealer spots it and makes a show happen here. Please take a look at her website to learn more.

Watermelon and Honeysuckle

My camera is blowing out the color some...but they were super mouthwatering. It's clearly one of my favorite color combos to use. They were from last Saturday's wedding. Fun and fresh. Enjoy and drink up!
